Bought a bike from one of the big chain brands? They usually come in a box labeled "90% built, all tools included". It seems promising but realistically it becomes a nightmare. Building a bike properly, safely, and to last is something best left to the professional- even when it comes built by the salesperson at the store, most times they are set up poorly and unsafely.
Bike Builds are from $59 for kids bikes, Up to $200 for complicated high performance bikes such as dual suspension mountain bikes, triathlon bikes and hi-end road bikes.

The Bike Doctor offers custom bike builds. These unique creations are built from the frame up with the rider in mind. We can work with a mixture of existing second hand frames or parts, or start the whole thing off brand new.

Where Do We Start?
Every build starts at the heart of a bike, the frame. Once you have a frame of your own, the planning process can begin. We can discuss your riding style and needs to find the necessary components to bring your dream to life, while staying within your budget.
You can supply all of your own parts, Used or New as long as they are clean and compatible. Alternatively we can supply you the parts or accessories from any of our Australian cycling wholesale distributors.
Custom Build Cost
Custom Builds are based off an hourly rate of $120/hr. Depending on the complexity of your build that can range from 2-6 hours ($240-$720) on average. To note, we do offer discounted rates ranging from 5-20% for anything over 4 hours.
A way to keep a custom build on budget, Is to ensure all parts are clean and compatible. We are also happy to complete partially built bikes. Things like tyres & tubes fitted, handlebars and stem arranged to suit your style of riding can save us a lot of time. Keep in mind safety related items will need to be double checked by us anyway.
